They gathered around the podium while he delivered insincere words with a vulpine smile.
The posh, stood behind their Leader in mute support. Their heads bobbed in feigned agreement while they fixated on his every uttered word – they being his well paid entourage.
A mob, enamored by the devilish Ruler but blind to his self-entitled ego, clamored about the podium hypnotized – enthralled – agog. Drawn to his magnetic darkness, the crowd of followers had become nothing more than envious slaves duped into thinking they were free. Instead, they were mere minions drawn into the black shroud of a false idol. Infected by the beast’s insidious nature, and honeyed words their fervor the cause of chaos. Entranced and unwittingly infected, the gathering populous now formed in collaboration with the elitist cult to spread unease throughout their communities.
Those who were observant had no need to listen. The Devil’s state and demeanor made it glaringly evident to those with keen vision that, ‘his’ only intent was on cursing the world and taking its power.
The wisest of the observers also knew that loyalty and freedom cannot be bought. Just as they knew that greed and envy were weaknesses.
Followers who are bought and paid for are destined to become disloyal. The disloyal always gravitate to the highest bidder. Monarchies fail. They fall. Chaotic and the greedy practices are doomed to failure. History has revealed this time and time again.
The wise are bound to let chaos ensue because they know chaos and magic balance one another. The wise can only intercede when the time is right. The most brilliant of these wise magicians intercede quietly. They are anonymous.
Great chaos equals great magic. One can never out-weigh the other for long. People most often see chaos but rarely notice magic when it happens. Change is always on the horizon.
Night turns to day.
Light vanquishes the darkness.
Hope prevails.
Karma metes out justice.
Nature triumphs.
A sly fox will always get caught in a trap of its own making in the end because it always wants to go back for more. Those with vulpine smiles and honeyed words are not to be trusted – they cannot deliver freedom and peace if they are creating division through envy and greed. These are false idols or poor leaders. Do not follow blindly.
Become more observant.
Be your own leader.
Become wise enough to know when to intercede.
Find the freedom and peace you seek within yourself. Therein lays the magic.

I think there’s something didactic about this homily that can be applied to contemporary times. And I agree that freedom and peace are found within. Nobody can give it to you, or take it from you.
