Forlorn

October 14, 2021 by Nadine Gordon

Forlorn,

Creativity lost,

A train of abandoned thoughts,

Buried in the sands of time,

Like prairie dust.

If you’re silent – you can hear the whispers;

Now, only memories of a forgotten past.

    To think, it really wasn’t that long ago when our ancestors were dragged around by the power of horses.

      I totally agree! We have lived in an age of quick transition!
      The horse and wagon is but one lost memory of our past…

    Nadine, thank you for sharing your sensitive poem. I am am sad to hear “ Creativity lost”. Each picture is quiet but speaks so much of lives lived and hard work. Also the beauty and freedom of the land.

      The entire scene was actually very inspiring however, I’ve come across so many abandoned and discarded pieces of our history on the land from the depression era, that it felt forlorn.
      Thanks so much for your comment, may you be inspired by it! 😊

      Thank-you!
      As I was snapping the pictures the poem came with it and I listened to the whispers and jotted it down!
